Use # in Cable Numbers

The Use # in cable numbers option did not used to be an option. It was a hard coded display only item for all cable numbers in drawings. the # symbol at the beginning of the cable number is intended to be a buffer between the end of the line text and the beginning of the cable number. If an output linetext ends in a number such as AUDIOOUT-21 and the cable number is 5001, it may be difficult to see where the line text ends and the cable number begins. Below are examples of connections with the "#" symbol on and off.

With VidCAD SQL 4.0 we added an option to turn off the # symbol when drawing cables. The default is still to have the # symbol display but users can now turn this option off. This option must be turned off BEFORE drawing cables. Follow the procedure below to turn off the Use # in Cable Numbers setting.

Select "Cable Settings" from the VidCAD Cables ribbon or toolbar.

2. Uncheck "Use # in cable numbers" from the Cable Settings window.

3. All NEW phantom or real cables created will not desplay without the # symbol.
