Changing a Product Icon

VidCAD offers default product icons for the equipment blocks. Product icons are located in the C:\VidCAD\Library\Products folder. You can change the default icon that displays inside an equipment block. Product icon files use an "i-" naming convention. The procedure below will describe the process of changing a default product icon.

Note: Once you modify the product icon, the new product icon will be displayed each time you create an equipment item with that product type. Equipment items currently in the drawing will not be updated with the new icon.

Example of icons:

1.    Select “Equipment Create” from the VidCAD Equipment ribbon or toolbar.

2.    In the Equipment Create window select the model you want to modify, and then select “Manage Flex.”

3.    Select “Edit I/Os” from the Flex Maintenance window.

4.    Select the “Product Specifications” tab from the Edit Flex IOs window.

5.     Select the “ellipsis” button in the Icon field.

6.    A Select Icon file window should open with the Look In field pointed to Products folder. If it is pointed elsewhere, navigate the Look In to C:\VidCAD\Library\Products. It is recommended you change the View settings to display drawing icons (XP) or medium icons (Vista or 7).

7.    Select the new icon from the list available in the Products folder and select “Open.”

8.    Exit the Product Specifications window.

9.    Exit the Flex Maintenance window.

10. Place the equipment block with the newly assigned product icon.
     Note: If the same model has been previously placed on the drawing you will need to select “Redefine” when prompted.
