Comment Field

The comment field on a DA block can display additional information about the equipment such as the physical location of the item or a description of the product. By default, the Rack # and Rack Panel will display if the equipment has been added to a rack. This field can be modified to display any field from a selection list including the Remarks field where you can enter custom information manually. The image below shows the same DA with different comment field selections.

The following procedure will show you how to change the comment field that displays on DAs.

1. Select “Equipment Settings” from the VidCAD Equipment ribbon or toolbar.

2.    Select “DA” from the FlexiBLOCK Settings area of the Diagram Equipment Settings window.

3.    Select “Text Placement” from the Flex DA Style Settings window.

4.    Select “Change” in the “Change comment field to” area of the Text Placement window. You can change the data field in any of the three Comment fields.

5.    Select the field you want to display in the Comments attribute of the DA.

6.    Select “Ok” and all future DA blocks added to this drawing will use this Comment field setting.
